It is very complicated to strike a balance between the need for a greater security for Israeli citizens and the necessity to preserve the right of self determination for Palestinian people. In this difficult quest for a balance, it is necessary to reject any form of extremism: religious extremis, of course, but also political extremism.

Extremists should be marginalised on both sides.

I have to say that I have found very questionable the fact that Netanyahu is carrying out a military attack just few weeks before the Israeli general elections. However, it is not time for recrimination and quarrels. We have to build peace and stop this war by imposing a ceasefire.

Europe and the US should work together in this direction.
There is no time to lose.
